NASA's SEWP VI November 2024 industry day emphasizes collaboration for upcoming IT procurement
At NASA's Solutions for Enterprise-Wide Procurement (SEWP) VI Industry Day, held 6 November 2024 at the College Park Marriott in Maryland, NASA and federal IT industry reps discussed updates to the somewhat delayed SEWP VI, GWAC with a 10-year ceiling of over $100 billion potentially. Plus, NASA adds services to the GWAC with the most sterling reputation for the first time.
The event focused on recent adjustments to the SEWP VI solicitation during a strategic pause earlier in 2024. Specific topics included increasing small-business participation, strengthening cybersecurity compliance, and addressing supply chain risk management. The SEWP Program Management Office also introduced potential new scoring criteria to evaluate vendor proposals while enhancing the contract’s flexibility to meet federal IT needs.
NASA also highlighted SEWP’s growth, noting that over 140 vendors—including 100+ small businesses—currently participate in SEWP V, with products and services spanning 9,000 OEMs and millions of catalog items. The proposal submission deadline for SEWP VI is currently 18 December 2024, with contract awards anticipated by May 2025. Most assume that date will move.
