FAR Council interim rule eliminates continuity requirement for SAM.gov registration
As highlighted by Joshua Duval, the FAR Council published an interim rule (which becomes immediately effectively) that revises the FAR clause on SAM.gov registration requirements. This rule removes the continuity requirement, which previously caused contractors to lose eligibility due to brief registration lapses. The revised FAR 52.204-7(b)(1) now mandates SAM.gov registration only at the time of offer submission and contract award, addressing frequent issues raised in GAO and COFC protests. The change offers contractors greater flexibility in maintaining compliance without risking disqualification over technical lapses in registration.
