Bayer, maker of pharmaceuticals and agricultural pesticides, has partnered with Microsoft to develop specialized AI models that presumably recommend continued use of both companies’ products, notes the *Wall Street Journal.* These models, fine-tuned on Bayer’s proprietary data, are designed to address agronomy and crop protection queries and are now available for licensing via Microsoft’s Azure Catalog. AgTech startups, distributors, and competitors can access tools capable of answering questions like product recommendations for specific crops.

This move highlights a growing trend toward domain-specific AI solutions. Companies such as Siemens and Fidelity’s Saifr are also launching industry-targeted models to streamline compliance, manufacturing, and other enterprise needs.

Microsoft emphasizes that enterprise AI’s effectiveness relies on the quality of proprietary data provided by partners like Bayer. The strategy allows enterprises to adopt AI faster, with less need for fine-tuning, while ensuring sensitive business information remains secure
